Hale Centre Theatre
The Story Weavers, Hale Centre Theatre's new Education Outreach Program.
Like the storytellers of old, The Story Weavers are a "troupe-in-a-trunk" group that specialize in moral-based story-teaching, encouraging students to open their imagination, to critically think about stories and characters, and to get up on their feet and join in the fun!
In partnership with Mountain America Credit Union, The Story Weavers bring to you in the 2024-2025 season, two brand new shows all about working hard, keeping commitments, investing in the future, and avoiding immediate gratification and debt.
30-minute presentation (short Q&A with the actors included)
2024 - 2025 school year offerings
Ice Cream in Paradise
On the hottest day of the year, our heroes are promised all the ice cream they could ever eat, if they promise to work the ice cream shop for the day...and not to taste a single lick of ice cream along the way! Can they do it? Follow us on a journey filled with lessons of hard work, sticking to commitments, and giving up something now for something even better later.
Suggested for grades K-3
The Magic Bag
It's time for our heroes to go out into the world and make it on their own... but on the way, they come across a magic bag which, if used properly, could change their lives for good. Will our heroes give in to their desires and be tied to the “weight of wanting too much?” Join them on their journey as they learn lessons of patience, peer pressure, the difference between want and need, and the ability to withstand immediate gratification.
The Story Weavers Workshop
NEW THIS YEAR! Looking for an interactive workshop to get your students on their feet and learning how to be better performers, storytellers, presenters, and gain self-confidence? The Story Weavers are now booking hour-long workshops for small groups of 40 or less, where students will learn how to make characters, build scenes, and tell stories through their voices, their emotions, and their movements. Suggested for Grades 6-12
Cost: $250 (within a 50-mile radius of the theater)
Add $100 for every additional 50 miles distance.
Special situations and Title I schools, please contact tiannam@hct.org
